Dr Wafik Moustafa

Aside from his professional life as a practicing doctor, Dr Wafik Moustafa is a well-known voice of Middle East affairs and makes regular appearances on the BBC, Sky and Al-Jazeera as well as a host of other broadcast Media. He has led parliamentary missions to Egypt and other destinations, and is a committed campaigner for a range of causes, from the interests of minority communities through to the importance of secular governance.

He is Chairman of the British Arab Network and the author of Egypt, The Elusive Arab Spring and Egypt, A Nation in Crisis. Wafik Moustafa has been aligned with the Ethical Culture Society, that rejects religious creed in favour of secular humanism and rationalism. He lived most of adult life in London, developed an  understanding and adherence to universal moral tenets and seeing military dictatorships and Islamic indoctrination as a hindrance to political stability and modernity.
